A New Way to Earn Cruise Loyalty Points

Royal Caribbean Group recently introduced a new loyalty option called Points Choice, and it’s an interesting change for anyone who sails with multiple brands in the Royal Caribbean family.

For years, loyalty programs have been brand-specific:

  • Royal Caribbean – Crown & Anchor Society

  • Celebrity Cruises – Captain’s Club

  • Silversea – Venetian Society

Royal Caribbean Group includes three distinct cruise brands: Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea.

Each program has its own perks, tiers, and point systems. But NOW, this family of brands is testing something new. Instead of automatically earning points in the program tied to the brand you're sailing, Points Choice allows you to choose where those points go.

That means a Royal Caribbean cruise could help you build status with Celebrity or Silversea instead.

How Points Choice Works

With the Points Choice program, guests sailing with Royal Caribbean Group brands may have the option to redirect their loyalty points.

For example:

• Take a Royal Caribbean cruise. Just like always before, you can earn Crown & Anchor points. The CHANGE is that you can now to apply those points to Celebrity Captain’s Club or Silversea Venetian Society!

This opens the door for cruisers who want to try other cruise lines within the Royal Caribbean Group family without giving up the loyalty they’ve already started building.

Royal Caribbean ships are known for high-energy activities, family-friendly experiences, and innovative features like the North Star observation capsule.

Why This Matters for Cruisers

Many travelers enjoy trying different cruise lines depending on the destination, travel style, or who they’re traveling with.

For example:

  • Royal Caribbean is fantastic for families and high-energy ships

  • Celebrity offers a more elevated, modern cruise experience

  • Silversea is known for ultra-luxury expedition and small-ship cruising

With Points Choice, guests who normally sail Royal Caribbean can try Celebrity or Silversea without losing the momentum they’ve already built in their loyalty journey.

Silversea specializes in ultra-luxury and expedition cruising with small ships and immersive itineraries.

Why I’m Personally Excited About This

This new flexibility is one of the reasons I’m excited about my upcoming cruise on Celebrity Reflection with my mom to celebrate her retirement. We’ve loved sailing with Royal Caribbean as a family, but I’m looking forward to experiencing Celebrity’s style of cruising which many people describe as a slightly more elevated experience while still feeling relaxed and approachable.

With young kids, Royal Caribbean will likely continue to be our go-to for family vacations. But programs like this make it easier to explore other brands within the Royal Caribbean Group while still maintaining a sense of familiarity and continuity in the overall experience. It opens the door to new ships, new destinations, and new styles of cruising while staying within a cruise family we already know and love.

Thinking About Trying Celebrity?

If you’ve been loyal to Royal Caribbean but have been curious about Celebrity, this could be a great time to give it a try.

I’ll be sharing more about our upcoming Celebrity Reflection cruise soon, including what makes Celebrity different and why it’s a great option for adults, couples, and celebration trips.

Stay tuned for that post next!

XOXO, Mrs. PIE
