I get this question all the time. “Do I really need a travel agent?” And I get it! Booking travel has never been easier. You can hop online, compare prices, read reviews, and feel like you’ve got it handled in a couple of clicks. But here’s what most people don’t realize…

There’s a difference between booking a trip and having someone manage your travel experience from start to finish.

Sometimes the Details Aren’t About the Price

When I planned my mom’s retirement cruise in May of 2026, the trip was built around her. She wanted to try key lime pie, do a sightseeting trolley tour, see the Key West Cemetery and the Southernmost Point, see Duval Street, and buy something from the Coach Outlet.

So that became the plan.

In one day in Key West, we checked every one of those things off her list, plus a few extras along the way. That’s the kind of planning I care about most. Not just getting you on the right ship at the right price, but knowing why you’re taking the trip in the first place and making sure the itinerary actually feels like yours.

In the past month, I saved three clients a combined $947.20 on their cruises.

That's savings for already booked cruises that I repriced when they dropped to a lower rate. That's one of the services I offer as a travel agent. I continue to monitor pricing after you book. I reprice when promotions drop. In sum, I make sure you’re not overpaying for the exact same trip you already have booked.

And that is exactly why I tell people to book early. Booking early gives us more time to watch the fare, more opportunities to catch a better promotion, and more chances for me to save you money before final payment.
